Oops! I Missed the Tuesday Obamacare Deadline... and Plan to Miss Two More

Oops. I missed the Tuesday, Dec 24 deadline for signing up for Obamacare (I was assembling a bicycle for my granddaughter's Christmas, so maybe I should have signed up for at least the mental health coverage). The next big date we don't want to miss, according to Diane Sawyer and ABC World News, is January 1, 2014, when the Obamacare you thought you signed up for on the 24th kicks in. Of course, that date, too, is subject to change by Executive Fiat, so the second "Can't Miss" date could come in February, March, June... but who among the tens of millions of us who have not signed up really cares? You cannot get excited about something that does not exist for you personally.

The third "Can't Miss" date is March 31, 2014, when enrollment closes and the penalty for not enrolling goes into effect. Again, I have no emotional attachment to this date, either, as I am not enrolled, I do not plan to enroll and I have no plans to pay the tax. All I need is for tens of millions of Americans to do the same. What are the IRS and President Obama going to do? Imprison us all at Gitmo, assuming he has closed it by then?

Dear reader, these are not "3 Affordable Care Act Dates You Can't Afford to Miss." These are 3 Affordable Care Act dates you need to excise from your calendar. Go ahead, get a pair of scissors and literally remove these dates from your calendar. Your mental health, and maybe even your physical health, should improve after your "date surgery."
