Foolish Republican Appearances

For the life of me, I will never understand why conservative Republicans agree to appear on programs hosted by Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews or their ilk. This is political insanity. It is the equivalent of Benjamin Netanyahu deciding to appear on Al Jazeera weekly to argue with a bunch of Islamo-Fascists.

Why on God's green earth, for instance, would John Sununu give Chris Matthews yet another warm, tingly sensation by appearing on his show and allowing Matthews to speak over the top of every statement Sununu made? In the video clip below, Sununu just keeps chugging along trying to make his point, while it is clear that Matthews has completely tuned him out. Matthews literally shouts him down and interrupts with his own thoughtless opinion every time Sununu opens his mouth.

Matthews is not interested in anybody's viewpoint but his own. Unbelievably, some continue to mistake him for a real journalist and a grown-up. How else can you explain how he ever manages to score a Republican or conservative as a guest?

I just don't get it. Nobody is going to change the minds of Matthews, Stewart, Maddow or their compatriots in the radical far-left media. Nobody is going to change a single mind of one of these leftists' listeners. So why, given that these appearances are a complete waste of the guest's time, do they keep showing up? Hello? Anybody have an answer?
